Haunted by visions and memories, Landon seeks answers.
He's identified the man in his nightmares. An exorcist in Rome.
He's the only one who might know the truth...
There's an encroaching darkness, an impeding war between angels and demons...
A lot of people will die if Landon doesn't remember a secret he's forgotten.
Is this Landon's chance to reconcile with his past? To atone for his former evil?
Will he achieve the redemption he seeks?

Wow. Talk about intense! Landon and Sarah go to Rome to learn more about Landon’s past. I don’t think they were ready for all that happened. This is an interesting view of being focused on the wrong things in life…things that give a false sense of righteousness. I enjoyed this book, and I am enjoying the quest that Landon and Sarah are on. It is extremely well written!
Picking up fabulously after book 1, we follow Landon on the next phase of his journey to uncover, discover, who he is, what he is. All he possesses are a few half baked visions he's struggling to interpret. To decipher if they really happened, if they really portray the truth and his only ally is Sarah, who, for some reason, feels compelled to help him. Landon knows the weirdest things, random facts but no idea how. Now he's in Rome with Sarah for answers, in the very heart of the Vatican, with revelation after revelation pounding at him as his purpose becomes clearer. The raging battle within him is extremely realistic, WHO does one believe?. What is deceptive, what is truth? One truth is crystal clear, Sarah is in danger and Landon needs to get it together, quickly! My goodness, my heart pounded louder than stampeding bison!
What starts off as confusion and mayhem, brings Landon not the full truth, but the conviction of right, a spiritual rebounding. Those final moments when doubt flees and conviction prevails, is glorious in the true sense of the word. The magnificent depictions of all the characters shows the good, the bad and the very hairy. I loved Landon and Sarah from book 1 but boy are they even more expensive in this book, especially Landon, he's come a long way, learnt much about himself, with so much more to come. With Sarah by his side, he cannot veer far from the light. SHE is the epitome of good, SHE is the epitome of faithful, nothing can sway her steadfast faith, her goodness.
This author ratchets up the intrigue and the tension, twisting piece by piece in time with my thundering pulse. His expertise is the delivery, like a faucet that drips, so too does the author slowly drop the revelations, the steady "plonk" louder with each drop. What unravels is a time eternal struggle against good and evil. But when both the good and the evil are within you, THAT fight is an eternal struggle. This author, makes me think, this author has me aware of so much more than simply the story, which was and is, excellent.
Very much a Christian read with a strong message, church and man and faith, coalesce fabulously on a fictional stage. But it's not a CHRISTIAN Christian read, it's a story full of mystery, it's a story of discovery, it's a story of demons, inner as well as"real" demons, it's a story that's action packed in the most awesomely paced read. It's tense, it's thrilling, it's a read so richly crafted and tenderly handled, I lapped up every word! And this quote really resonates, "person" does not inherently imply humanity" If you enjoyed The Davinci Code, you'll definitely enjoy this series!
Landon and Sarah go to Rome, to Vatican City, to see if he can learn something about himself. He hopes meeting one of the priests he has seen in visions will lead to a discussion of his past to unlock his memories.
He does learn more about himself, but it is not what he expected. The streets he wanders are as convoluted as his path to knowledge and to faith in God.
Will he be strong enough to survive his latest tests, or will they be his last tests?
I discovered this series by accident and am very impressed with it. I really enjoy the characters and their interactions during the progression of the story. I recommend this author to anyone interested in the fantasy world of books.
